At UNI-CAT, we are planning to use the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 PLC. This is
cheaper than the VME based 90-50 (?) series and does not live in a VME
create. According to the people at GE, the 90-30 series can do everything
that the VME based series, and is cheaper. The 90-50 series is going to be
used by APS for the Personell Protection System (they are using both GE and
AB) so there should be local support at APS. Pete Jemian is now in charge
of this, and is probably reading this message too.
