Re: Autosave/restore

To be more precise, XOR is running four different versions of synApps;

sector #1 - synApps 4.4
sector #2 - synApps 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5
sector #3 - synApps 4.2

synApps autosave/restore
version version
----- ---------
R4.2 V2.0
R4.3 V2.2
R4.4 V2.6
R4.5 V2.6

I haven't gotten around to documenting what you are running
on sector#4, Jonathan. I'll get to it someday.

I have worked off and on for over a year with Dan Legnini and
Stefan Vogt to determine the many Autosave/restore problems they
have had on their IOC. The only problem I have been able
to verify is one that occurs when the NFS server goes down,
but the IOC is still up and running. The problem is that when the
NFS server comes back up, the IOC nfsMounts are no longer
valid. You can verify that this has occurred from the IOC
by simply entering 'ls' at the VxWorks shell. You get,

iocrls> ls
Can't open '.'.
value = -1 = 0xffffffff = ca_server_port + 0xff0ad813

Unfortunately, I have not pursued this further to determine
what the root cause of the problem is.
