SBC-CAT uses the XFD and ASD standard identified by Tim Mooney:
+Z is the beam direction, +Y is up, and +X is out from the storage ring

BIO-CAT also uses this common coordinate system due to shared software.

Graphical displays show beam direction from right-to-left.
In the case of component lists, they are presented from top to bottom.
