Kurt,

I looked a little more closely at our motors, and I think I see what we are
doing wrong.  We have
tended not to connect the Ph2 & Ph4 return leads on the motors (ELCO pins F &
H).   All the return
lines are shorted together on the SPD-6U drivers, so this is not a problem
when using those drivers.

When using the bipolar drive with the same connections, half of the phases
will not have return lines
so there will be problems!

In our defence, I note that the majority of the pre-wired motors we have on
tables etc., do not have
the Ph2 & Ph4 returns connected either...
