vendor for VME crates by MUPAC

A question came up at the recent beamline controls meeting
regarding the vendor for the VME crates manufactured by Mupac.
The commercial vendor (previously Torkelson Assoc.) is now
(and has been for about 15 months or so):

Base Eight, Inc.
3345 Arlington Heights Rd., Suite F
Arlington, Heights, IL 60004
847 - 670 - 1680
847 - 670 - 1737 : fax

The sales representative is:
Don Otten
708 - 246 - 6709 : home office

The item which we ordered was
  VME crate, Mupac model 5099KDL20FK100

--------

One observation about these Mupac crates is that there seems
to be a minor quality control issue to watch for. This has nothing
to do with Base Eight. The four crates we ordered last year
came with the RESET switches wired normally closed instead of
normally open. Also, the card slot plates on the back of the
crate were installed backwards; top slot plate on the bottom
and vice versa. The result was that cards would not fit
properly in slot 0 and slot 20. First problem mind-numbing
to diagnose. Both problems easy to fix. Not a problem with
the technical design.
