I have a problem trying to program the flash rom on a new MVME162-532A for
vxWorks 5.2p1, per the procedure on the XFD web page:
http://www.aps.anl.gov/xfd/bcda/Documents/Hardware/a162_stuff.html . The
situation is the following:
I set the console speed to 4800 baud, type '~$' and issue the local command
'cat <path>/bootrom.hex', after which I get a msg 'away for 6min 49sec',
which seems kind of fast. Then, the first really odd thing is that it takes
several minutes to return to the 162-bug> prompt after I hit <return>, but
I get no error message. When I type in the command to program the flash
memory, I get the following messages, after being notifed that blocks 00 to
03 are being erased and written:
FLASH memory Programming complete
FLASH Memory Programming error: Erase-phase Write-phase Verify-phase
Then, blindly going ahead assuming things are ok, replacing the jumper that
tells the computer to use the flash memory, and starting back up, I still
get the 162-bug> prompt.
I'd appreciate any hints.
