TITLE:  IDL Technical Demonstration

ABSTRACT: A technical IDL demonstration is presented, with focus on advanced
(and possibly underutilized) features of version 5.2. It will contain an
overview of the soon to be released Noesys/IDL integration, as well as the
VIP (Visual IDL Programming) utility. Each of the latter are still accepting
a limited number of beta test site requests. Application engineer Harold Cline
will further demonstrate advanced Live Tools concepts, GUI tools, object 
graphics, and IDL On the Net (ION). Following the demonstration, Harold will
be available to address technical IDL questions. The Research Systems team is 
also on site to better understand the future needs of IDL based applications,
data visualization and analysis solutions at the Advanced Photon Source.
