problems with undulator communications

Over probably the last few weeks, we've been having increased problems
related to control of our ID from our VME crate. We seem to be having
increased intermittent problems communicating with the ID, after which our
workstation regains communication, but our xafs scanning, which is set up
to scan the ID as a separate positioner in the scan record, refuses to
function. We also have other functions involving the ID that refuse to
work (e.g. we have things set up to optionally move the ID when we move the
mono, by means of a fanout record). Has anyone else noticed this type of
problem? So far the only remedy we've found is to reboot the crate, which
happens like once a day over the last week at least. Any other suggestions
as to how to improve things from our end? This has been quite a hassle
recently.
We are using epics3.13beta11.
Thanks
