Dear folks,

The EPICS device-support course will occur on Thursday 10/23,
from 2:00 to 4:00 in Bldg 401/ Rm. B3100.

Here's the expected syllabus:

1) Context (review of relevant EPICS background information)
2) Alternatives to writing device support
3) General rules for device support
4) Code walk through: devScaler.c, devAvme9440.c
5) Integration into EPICS (.dbd files, Makefile, etc.)
6) Brief description of available resources:

			Winans' EPICS GPIB Device Support document
	(handout)	VxWorks Board Support Documentation
			Generic Serial, GPIB, VME, CAMAC records
			App Developer's Guide
			LANL EPICS course materials
7) Q&A session (Marty Kraimer and Joe Sullivan will sit in)

It would be a good idea to review the Application Developer's Guide
prior to this course.  We still probably won't get through everything in
two hours.
