IDL course to be taught

    Folks,

Your CAT director should have received a mailing from Gopal Shenoy about a
proposed IDL course.  The letter stated that the course would be 'one day' and
'sometime in July'.  The true facts are:

  - the course would be one *week*, probably the week of July 22 and taught at
    the APS.

  - it will be taught by Research Systems Inc., the vendor of IDL, and reputed
    to be good.

  - we can tailor the syllabus to our needs, e.g. by emphasizing scientific
    data formats.

If you are interested, please contact your CAT director soon so that we can
make the necessary arrangements.
